Racing for a cure to Parkinson’s Disease, one lap at a time.
Attend a Racing For Parkinson’s event and help fund disease research today.
There is no cure for Parkinson’s Disease, yet.
Racing For Parkinson’s works to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, a nonprofit that directly funds research to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. We host motorsports-related fundraising events in honor of everyone whom the disease has taken the joy of driving from, including our founder’s father, Bill Bain.
Who we are
-
Bill Bain
Bill “Gramps” Bain is the reason all this got started. An enthusiast of small, lightweight sports cars, he owned a procession of Alfa Romeo through the 90s, eventually progressing to time trial one with the Alfa club of Atlanta. He built cars and participated in autocross and time trials with his son, Devon, until his diagnosis in 2021 took his ability to drive.
-
Devon Bain
Campaigning regionally in Street Touring Ultra and Tuner 3, Devon was devastated by his father’s diagnosis and having to hang up his helmet forever. When Bill asked if they could use Devon’s racing to raise awareness about Parkinson’s Disease, the idea for Racing For Parkinson’s was born. Devon has turned his passion for motorsports into a way to raise money for those affected by this horrible disease.
