Our Mission
The first sign that Bill Bain had Parkinson’s was that his hands began to shake on the steering wheel when in grid, waiting to take his hot lap. Then, gradually, his lap times deteriorated. He started to get a little lost on track sometimes. When the diagnosis came, it wasn’t a shock to his son. “Can you do something with the car,” Bill asked, “to raise awareness about Parkinson’s?”
”I’ll do you one better,” replied his son, and founded Racing For Parkinson’s.
Racing For Parkinson’s was created out of the helplessness that Parkinson’s Disease creates in the people it afflicts. Our net proceeds go to the benefit of Team Fox, the grassroots fundraising program of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, as we raise awareness and donations through motorsports - hosting track days, cars & coffee, autocross, and more. Racing For Parkinson’s is our way to do our part not just to raise awareness, but to be an active part of the solution. That’s why we are committed to our net profits going directly to disease research.
There is no cure for Parkinson’s Disease. But together, by raising money that goes directly to disease research, we hope that one day that can change. Until then, we’ll be racing for a cure, one lap at a time.
